Additional Certifications

I am birth doula in Gresham, OR and have attended 61 births. After birthing at home for my first baby 32 years ago I began devouring everything birth related knowing this would be one of my passions. After my third baby was born I began midwifery training. I taught VBAC and cesarean prevention classes for many years while at the same time "birth-coaching." I've had lots of experience with homebirths and OB/hospital births, lay midwives and nurse midwives. I love my work and believe we all deserve respect, caring & nurturing throughout pregnancy, labor and of course birth!

Doula Experience

I have been a VBAC doula for over 27 years in four different states. My four children (home-born) are grown. My oldest daughter is now a mother and a doula also!
I am a certified doula with DONA (Doulas of North America-International)
This past year I traveled to India for the 5th time and volunteered my services as a birth doula at a hospital where the cesarean rate was 90%! and had incredible experiences with families there.

Fees

My passion is teaching mothers about gentle birth practices and being witness to their births whether they are natural births, surgical births, home/hospital. Watching happy growing families that feel they were cared for and respected during labor and birth makes me feel so happy and satisfied. I will gladly serve moms in my area and a 20 mile radius
(Portland OR, Vancouver, WA)

Childbirth Educator Bio:

I have taught gentle birth practices and cesarean prevention for over 25 years.

Class Fees

Working with parents one-on-one is best for my schedule. Parents that are motivated to learn more about hospital routine interventions (that should be avoided) are great to work with. Navigating through all of the twists and turns that labor takes isn't easy. It's always satisfying when parents feel they were respected, educated about procedures, and encouraged towards gentle birth practices.
